Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian cultural practice that incorporates movement, music, ceremony, and self-defense. Since its creation, it has been used as a tool for liberation, community building, and expression. This popular art form is celebrated in Los Angeles and around the world.

In this 6-week interactive series you will be introduced to the basic movements, songs, and rhythms of Capoeira along with its rich history. Come try out this lively, fun-filled, and empowering experience in South LA!

No previous experience or athletic ability is necessary and all ages are welcome.

Sundays,  June 23, June 30, July 7, July 14
Time – 1:30pm – 3:00pm
Cost – Sliding scale of $1-5 per workshop / $6-30 for series. No one will be turned away.
Light snacks provided for each class.
Please note that the workshop is on the 2nd Floor and is only accessible via stairs.
This series is open to all, but is intended for the local South LA community.
