Western Walk Audit

On Sunday November 21, 2021, members of the Empowerment Congress Central Neighborhood Council, members of the Chesterfield Square Block Club, and other community members conducted a walk audit in collaboration with CD 8 Office of Councilman Marqueece Harris-Dawson, LA DOT, and Vision Zero. The Walk Audit was conducted on Western Avenue from Martin Luther King Blvd to 54th Street.

The team identified pedestrian and traffic safety hazards and discussed ideals for the redesign of Western Avenue. The Walk was part of the Western Avenue Redesign Project.

The Empowerment Congress Central Neighborhood Council and its Planning & Redevelopment committee are working closely with #VisionZero #LADOT and the Office of Councilmember Marqueece Harris-Dawson to ensure our community has a voice in the redesign of Western Avenue
